CHALLENGE
Tasked with designing a magazine on any topic, it is expected to display an advanced understanding of page layout, typography, photography, and concept. This magazine, Rev & Reel, dives into some of the world’s most iconic filmsand the cars that are present in those films. Volume 007 highlights the Aston Martin DB5 that can be seen in several of the James Bond movies.
SOLUTION
The James Bond films hold a strong duality of classic English elegance with modern excitement that is seen in the modern Aston Martin DB5, style, and setting. The use of old-style serifs like Bodoni and Baskerville with more modern sans serifs such as Neue Haas compliment each other to provide the same duality as the films do. The magazine completed as a print of three articles and all other required magazine elements.
